The theory of the way planets work - astrology - evolved in the Ancient Babylonia, where the stellar constellation was related with the processes happening on the Earth, with the periods of storms and droughts.

Thousands of years ago the constellations were considered Gods and Demons. The Babylonians believed that they influence not only the events on Earth but also the King Destiny, later - the fates of ordinary people. Thus there emerged the belief in stars which is as yet proclaimed by the ancient temples and pyramids. In the beginning astrologists foretold events for the whole county or kingdom; later personal horoscopes were started to be compiled.

The newly appeared natural sciences promptly pushed the belief in stars away. The new breakthroughs in science deprived astrology of its influence. However, recently we start hearing more and more of astrology; a lot of people compile their horoscopes or read them in the magazines. Today planets and Zodiac signs are of great significance to the majority of people. Some are even absolutely sure that being born while the Sun is in the sign of a Leo or Capricorn is very important.

Astrology set the grounds for astronomy science. However, astronomers indicate that astrology is a pseudo-science about the effect celestial bodies have on us. Moreover, due to the fact that the Sun does not go through the same paths or constellations as thousands of years ago. Now there is merely a tricky saying that the Sun is not in some Zodiac constellation but in a star of that constellation. Anyway it is up to you to decide whether to believe in astrology or not. On our part we provide a number of explanations and the horoscopes of the Zodiac signs compiled by astrologists.

A horoscope (Greek - observing time) - is a scheme indicating the arrangement of the Sun, the Moon and planets with regard to Zodiac constellations at the moment of birth or the beginning of any other important event in human life. All that is depicted by an astrologist in a circular diagram which consists of the following elements:

• 12 Zodiac signs
• 12 astrological houses
• 12 planets
• Aspects (reciprocity of the planets)

Astrologists predict the future of a person and indicate his/her character according to the horoscope. It is a specific Zodiac sign and planets being at a specific house at the moment of his/her birth that influence the character of a person.

Upon compiling a horoscope an astrologist takes into consideration three parameters - date, exact time and geographic place. He or she draws a graphic picture (diagram) and marks the planet location in the Zodiac signs. Further on the so called houses are pictured. According to their meaning these 12 houses correspond approximately to the 12 Zodiac signs and are dependant on the geographic place the horoscope is compiled in. The astrological explanations are thus based on these calculated locations of planets and divisions into houses.

The location of the Sun in comparison to the position of other planets is considered the most significant. Throughout the year the Sun goes though all 12 Zodiac signs. Therefore, usually it is the position of the Sun which is taken as a reference point and the simplified, the so called Sun horoscopes are compiled; those you can read in magazines or newspapers.

Astrologists can compile horoscopes on almost any required topic. The most popular are birth or personal horoscopes, which include the following character traits of a person: individualism and self-expression, feelings and demands, communication, relations with the environment, potential for development, profession and aims in life, goals in life and the ability to adapt.

Future prediction horoscopes are also very popular and go after personal horoscopes. They provide information about the defined period of time, i.e. on their basis we can judge about favorable or non-favorable moments of our life. The horoscopes do not tell us what to do and what not; they are merely comments about the influence of dominant planets on us and the energy they spread at a particular moment of time. The evaluations of the mentioned planet positions and effects are also called aspects.

Zodiac - is an imaginary band of sky, which has 13 dependant constellations. Zodiac signs were introduced by the Babylonians who divided the path of the Sun into 12 Zodiac constellations and gave them mystical significance. At that time the Sun went through those constellations. Today it is said that the Sun is in a Zodiac sign, and not in constellations, as due to precession (astronomical process) the Sun already goes though other constellations.

The division into Zodiac signs starts from Aries and finishes with Pisces. The sequence of Zodiac signs from Aries to Pisces is as follows: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.
